International Hospitality Recruitment Without The Headache

Since we opened our doors in 2005 we have lost count as to how many times pubs, restaurants and hotels have looked into the process of sponsoring overseas professionals only to pull the pin after a conversation or two.
Funnily enough, we have also lost count as to how many allow themselves to sink further into the mire before actually doing something about it. Staff not showing up, holding them to ransom, under qualified or not the person their resume says they are. Yes, we’ve heard it all before.
What leaves us the most bewildered is when presented with an alternative that is not only sustainable for the long term but also less laborious than most think, many remain hesitant and decide to just continue rolling the dice. It’s like playing the pokies.
“Eventually my luck will change!” Right?
Someone very famous once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
This is something we at TSS believe wholeheartedly.
So why sponsor? The answer is really very simple but let’s start by addressing some issues all hospitality businesses face. Yes, every single business.
We talk daily with venue operators right across the country, each and every conversation identical to the last.
The relentless advertising that costs far too much and nets either inexperienced staff or those with none whatsoever. What about chefs who turn up today and are never seen again or those who threaten to walk unless paid exorbitant sums of money?
How about – and this is one of our favourites – “I have never cooked in my life, but it can’t be that hard”.
Sure, if you want to keep riding that merry-go-round we certainly understand, sponsorship isn’t for everyone. Just be aware that those who make that choice often call us six months later, at their wits end.
The struggle to take the plunge is real. We get that. But part of what we do is making the entire process as easy for you as possible. You don’t even need to source the staff yourself because we do that too!
Imagine for a moment a streamlined process. Where you engage one company to source applicants, screen and process them until they are job ready and visa eligible and a Registered Migration Agent lodges all the relevant paperwork on your behalf. Now imagine all of this going on while you simply continue running your business.
Our Migration Agents are the best in the business. They will provide you with complete peace of mind with accurate, up-to-date information, specific to your business, delivered in layman’s terms.
Having spent the time to gain an absolute understanding of your business and it’s needs our recruitment team will be ready with a list of suitable applicants for you to interview. And just so you know, every applicant has been through a painstaking vetting process to make sure they are exactly who they say they are. Yes, our chefs are actually chefs.
At this stage of the process all the legal requirements have been met, you have interviewed and chosen your perfect candidate and all applications have been lodged. At the same time, all you had to focus on as a business owner is making sure the punters have a cold beer and the dining room is clean.
We often see the fortunes of businesses changing forever. The inclusion of overseas workers transforms local business in ways they can’t imagine. Experience and culinary knowledge from across the globe are just two aspects of what international applicants can provide. But it’s their motivation, loyalty, professionalism and tenure that can make them the most valuable assets in the business.
Isn’t it time to stop doing what you know doesn’t work? Let’s face it, we all know our industries staffing problems aren’t go away any time soon. Stop wishing and start acting. Your business will see greater stability on the back of superior staff, and you can go back to keeping seats filled with happy punters.
